Hey, guys here's a home remedy for stopping your cats from climbing your Christmas trees! Simply make a mixture of vinegar and water and spray around the base or the tree skirt with it! Cats hate the smell and stay away from it.

All these internet animal experts in their rush to condemn just ignore the fact that pet safe tinsel is a thing. But yeah, I get it, it's easier to criticize someone else's life than take care of your own.

I've had four cats for the last seven years. I haven't dared get a tree for seven years.

Interesting tip about cats: they naturally chew some types of grass to help out their digestion. If they don't have access to the right kinds of grass they will chew any vegetation they find. So read up and make sure there's stuff for her to gnaw on around the house that does the job. My cat eats ferns, and that seems to do the trick. Apparently they are toxic, but the cat doesn't seem to mind.

People have commented on the tinsel thing, but I just want to give a heads up if you have a cut tree in water--pets love to drink it. It can give them diarrhea, so the easiest way to prevent this is to put lemon slices in the water. Cats hate citrus, and I think dogs do too.

Tinsel are not good for any animal and you can ask the vet and yes I know you guy's are not going to like me because of my comments. Sorry about that but I own 🐈's like I have own canine's, 🐦's, 🐟's and iguana in the past. I come from a family that have and still have animal's in our life....

My cat climbed our tree that had pre lit lights on it and his leg somehow got wrapped up in it and was stuck. He was crying like crazy. Luckily we were home and I freed him. There was no way he would've gotten free by himself.

If you own a cat, toss the tinsel (or anything stringy like yarn, cassette tape, ribbon, etc.)! What looks like a shiny toy to your cat can prove deadly if ingested.

Please no tinsel on the lower part of a tree.

Please don't leave the lights on the tree. Bella can electrocute herself by chewing on the wires. I now they loo niee, but please remove them.

More unsolicited advice.: Scary tinsel. Weight the tree down so it won’t get knocked over. If you really want Bella to stay on tree skirt, put it near sun and or heating pad under it. You two are adorable pet parents. Best wishes for all .
